Never before have we had so great an ability to collect, archive, and leverage data for archaeological purposes. But archaeologists are still learning what's possible. New methods are being created every day, and it can be hard to keep up while still maintaining the highest quality of field practices.

That's where we come in.

Our Vision

STRATUM is a software designed for mobile devices for carrying out archaeological field work. We have looked at current practices in Cultural Resource Management archaeology across North America and have developed a tool that covers the broadest range possible of archaeological projects and data collection practices.

 

Our aim is to revolutionize archaeology by leveraging the available technologies through a single application, dramatically decreasing the time it takes to document in the field and to synthesize data in the office. Our tool provides powerful visualization of data for rapid and more informed decision-making in the field as well as attractive, informative graphics for reports and presentations.

Transparency and Accountability

We are committed to facilitating communication between regulatory bodies, archaeologists, and Indigenous rights holders through our platform, so that each party is kept up to date on requirements, activities, and current issues within the archaeological community in real time.

Our System

STRATUM has two main interfaces: through a connected mobile device for data collection, and through a connected desktop or laptop computer for data analysis and export.

All data is uploaded to a server. Data can be called by either kind of interface.

Your project can be set up to send automatic updates to stakeholders. You can export your data to a variety of file formats and generate different kinds of reports for regulators and clients.

Team members can connect to your project. You can set every team member's access and what kinds of data they can view and enter.
